In a move that reaffirms its position as the world’s leading authority on HR transformation best practice and education, the HROA today announced that is has assumed management of OpenDoor HRO – the first global standardization program for the HR Outsourcing Industry.

This new development is thanks to the generosity of a group of HROA members who founded OpenDoor HRO. The founders decided to donate the entire online standardization assets belonging to the program freely to the HROA. The move ensures that two of the leading standardization initiatives currently available to HRO professionals are now fully integrated to provide a ‘one-stop’ management and education resource.

The OpenDoor HRO initiative was launched earlier this year by three leading global HRO industry suppliers and advisors in an effort to help improve client knowledge, advance standards, and facilitate greater harmonization of HRO practices across the industry. ARINSO, SAP, and EquaTerra brought together their collective best-practice experiences to create an extensive online repository of standardized specifications, documents, and templates together with white papers and industry research. Online access and downloads were all provided free of charge.

Says Christian Baader, VP of BPO Strategy and Market Development, SAP AG, “Our ambition with the OpenDoor HRO-initiative was to foster more sustainable and mutually beneficial HRO engagements by providing free access to proven, thought-leading best-practice as pragmatic inputs for BPO-decision cycles. OpenDoor HRO now joining forces with the HROA Standardization Initiative clearly provides added value to HRO buyers and suppliers by driving the sustainability of the whole industry.  As founding members of both initiatives, all OpenDoor HRO members will, of course, continue to actively participate in the further evolution of industry best practices through the HROA.”

Lowell Williams, HRO Practice Leader of EquaTerra, states, “The OpenDoor HRO initiative has been met with great enthusiasm from the start. The interest has been tremendous, signaling a need among the buyer community for impartial and ready-to-use documents and guidelines. To further increase interest in and adoption of these practices we’re very happy to be working with the HROA as the central global HR transformation body.”

Rudy Vandenberghe, Vice-President Global Accounts of Northgate-ARINSO, comments, “From the outset the objective of OpenDoor HRO was to make buyers and suppliers understand each other better. Through OpenDoor HRO we have been able to start spreading a more common understanding of how HRO contracts are organized and structured.”

Richard Crespin, Global Executive Director of the HROA, adds, “The HROA’s core mission is to accelerate the growth and professionalism of HR Transformation.  The establishment of accepted standards and practices is a cornerstone in creating the transparency and comparability that will allow the industry to mature at a faster rate.  The generous contribution of OpenDoor HRO will ensure greater access and use of this information throughout our membership and the market.”
